"Sava Ognyanov" State Repertoir Theatre - Rousse
The theatre was founded in 1911. It has a permanent ensemble of 20 actors and
three halls: the "Rousse" hall with 200 seats, the chamber hall with 200 seats
and "Small stage" - 50 seats. It has a diverse repertoire spectrum - from classical
drama to contemporary plays. Seven or eight productions are done yearly and
about 180-200 performances are presented per season. The theatre is financed
by Bulgaria's Ministry of Culture, from own revenues and donations. Major participations
in festivals: participation and prizes from all the national events for drama
and theatre throughout 1950-1989. International drama festival in Giorgiu, Romania,
International drama festival "Danube Theatre" in Austria, as well as many staging
visits in Austria, Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Russia, Lithuania, Romania and Yugoslavia.
